Does a Partial Stage Help Sell My Home?

When people hear the word staging, they often imagine a fully furnished, magazine-ready home where every room is perfectly styled. While full staging certainly makes a powerful impact, it isn’t within every homeowner’s budget. The good news is that a partial stage can still dramatically improve how a home shows—and how quickly it sells.

Be Simple. Be Novel. Be Bright. Be Gray, Beige, Brown, or White. Be You.

Be Simple. Be Novel. Be Bright. Be Gray, Beige, Brown, or White. Be You.

When I first conceived and then composed this style philosophy, it was meant to express a simple truth: there isn’t a right or wrong style. Interior design and decorating should be about choosing individuality and embracing creative expression in your home — for you.

Why Professional Help with Organizing Makes Such a Difference

Why Professional Help with Organizing Makes Such a Difference

Despite what HGTV might want you to believe, organizing isn’t about perfection or making your home look like a magazine. It’s about creating a space that feels manageable, functional, and easier to live in. You don’t have to buy fancy storage options to get organized - although fancy storage options are fun, if they’re in your budget!

Many people tell themselves that they just need more time to get organized. In reality, what most homes need is a fresh perspective, a clear plan, and someone to put the process into motion. Professional organizing provides all of these.

Why Staging Matters Even More in Older/Dated Homes

Why Staging Matters Even More in Older/Dated Homes

When people think about home staging, they often picture new construction or recently renovated homes. But in reality, staging can be even more important in older homes — especially those that need cosmetic updates. Older homes often have great bones, larger lots, mature trees, and established neighborhoods. What they sometimes lack is a clear visual connection to how buyers want to live today. Staging helps bridge that gap.

Virtual Staging vs. In-Home Staging: Are Your AI Images Over-Selling and Under-Delivering?

Virtual Staging vs. In-Home Staging: Are Your AI Images Over-Selling and Under-Delivering?

Virtual staging has become increasingly popular in real estate marketing — and it’s easy to see why. It’s fast, inexpensive, and allows empty rooms to appear furnished in online listings. For sellers looking to save money upfront, it can seem like an easy solution. Virtual staging can help generate clicks online, but that doesn’t translate into stronger offers or faster sales once buyers walk through the door. An AI image online can work great for marketing, but it’s not the best way to sell a home.

Save a Mortgage Payment. Stage a House.

Here’s the funny thing, y’all… I am terrible at sales. My conscience will not allow me to passionately and sincerely sell anything I don’t truly believe in. I can tell you, from years of experience, as someone who has bought and sold more houses than I’d like to admit… don’t count the pennies! If the house isn’t getting as many viewings as you’d hoped, you don’t want the worry, “Should we have staged?” spiraling through your mind. In the scheme of things, the cost of staging typically pays for itself with a higher, faster sale.

The Pressure of a First Blog Entry

The Pressure of a First Blog Entry

Featured: A photo of my two reasons and my favorite place on the planet, the ocean.

Over the years, I’ve worn a lot of hats:

  • I was a public school teacher (high schoolers!).

  • A small business owner (RIP Cool River Web Design).

  • I worked in the nonprofit world (RIP Jane Goodall 💔).

  • And once upon a time, I was a pretty stellar waitress (I’ve got the scar on my thumb to prove it).

And now, here I am—building my dream business—playing with styles, trends, colors, patterns, textures, people, pets, and so much more.

I love the blank canvas of a full-home stage, and the creative challenge of making a partial stage picture perfect.

Organizing is a meditation for me. Honestly, I’d organize every house in the world for free—if only it didn’t cost money to get us to the beach… and pay the rent.

Packing and unpacking? I find satisfaction in the sound of taping a full box shut, and joy in deciding where everything should go in a new space.

The wide world of style stimulates my brain, my senses, and my emotions. Style is so much more than frivolous—it creates joy, wonder, contentment, peace, excitement, conversation, and contemplation. Honestly, style might be my favorite word of indulgence.
